Our nursery can accommodate up to twenty-five healthy new-borns and up to three premature babies. The ward is equipped with three incubators, a ventilator and respiratory support equipment for premature babies. During the mother’s stay at the clinic, the team from the ward is on hand 24/7 to help her with nursing and to teach her how to care for her new-born baby. We allow mothers to decide whether to keep the baby with them in the room or at the nursery.
Neonatal care plays an important role in the unit’s work. Its aim is to ensure maximum wellbeing for the mother and her infant, especially in premature births.
In the unit, we are careful to avoid overly intense stimuli (such as light and sound) which may disturb the baby. Parents are taught containment holding, a technique which makes the baby more comfortable, and other measures to eliminate stress as much as possible. The ward runs 24/7 neonatal monitoring in order to respond promptly to any emergency situation.
